We are excited to announce our expansion of DoControl’s integrated technology partnership program to include Datadog. As a leading platform provider for monitoring and security for cloud applications, the integration with Datadog allows security operations teams to have a more holistic view of risk across the mission-critical Software as a Service (SaaS) applications being leveraged to enable business enablement and productivity.
SaaS applications are a critical part of a modern business’ technology stack. At DoControl we are partnering with organization’s of all sizes and types to uphold their end of the shared responsibility model in the cloud, and this new integration with Datadog bolsters that commitment. The DoControl platform centralizes data access control policies and provides a single security strategy to minimize an organization’s risk exposure from data breaches and exfiltration. When you think about the average number of SaaS applications, multiplied by the number of identities and entities – internal and external – who connect to them, and then again multiplied out by the number of files being accessed, manipulated and shared. Yikes!
The end result: too much data that is accessible by far too many identities – that in many cases shouldn’t have access in the first place!!– and for far longer than required.
The partnership between DoControl and Datadog helps move the business forward in a secure way for organizations pursuing a “cloud-first” strategy. DoControl helps reign in an organization's risk exposure and allows for the principle of least privilege to be applied at a more granular level. Security operations teams are now in a much better position to both understand risk and streamline incident response efforts by pushing out incident requests and log files from DoControl and over to Datadog. The integration provides multiple layers of cloud security and routes potential SaaS-related threats and incidents to the appropriate teams for review and response.
DoControl and Datadog can be integrated in a few simple steps, and security teams can then create and enforce granular data access control policies consistently throughout the SaaS estate.
How it Works
Mutual customers leveraging Datadog to track, monitor and analyze anomalies from their cloud estate can leverage DoControl’s Security Workflows policy logic, which now has the ability to send activity logs and create on-the-fly incidents to Datadog directly within the DoControl platform. An API and application key need to be created within Datadog – to uphold the authentication part of the workflow – and then integrated into DoControl as a new credential. Security teams can then create secure data access control policies, either from scratch or by leveraging a wide-range of pre-existing playbooks – and that’s it, done and dusted. DoControl unlocks the ability to get more out of your existing IT and security investments by sending an HTTP request to other systems, endpoints or services. Like most everything in the DoControl platform this is super easy to use and configure, and can be achieved in just a few simple steps. This HTTP request is the vehicle behind the Datadog integration among many others including Jira for creating issue requests, and VirusTotal for IP checks and scanning files for potential viruses. Security is a team game, and no individual vendor can solve the high number of use cases that are demanded by the modern security programs of today.
Beyond being an event-driven platform that is agentless, API and webhook-based under the hood, the HTTP connector is another attestment to the platform being enterprise-ready that can be easily integrated into existing technology stacks.
